A family-friendly event open to the Calgary public, we invite all to join us as we commemorate 70 years of the Nakba and 70 years of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.  There will be poetry readings and spoken word, first-person accounts of the forced displacement of Palestinians, speeches, a visual pictorial display of the flight and plight of Palestinian refugees during the 1947-48 and 1967 forced displacements, and the ongoing Nakba until the 2018 Gaza Great March of Return. We will also have a children’s activity table.

We will call on the Government of Canada to break its silence and impose economic sanctions on Israel for their 70-year sustained war crimes and continuous violations of international law against the people of Palestine.
